On Friday Richland County's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single  point of losing the streak, but they secured  a   28-27 W against the Casey-Westfield Warriors. Those 28 points were actually the fewest the Tigers have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
 Gavyn Cothern had another great game (as  he tends to do), rushing for 182 yards and a pair of  TDs while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, and also throwing for 97 yards and one  touchdown. Cothern is  crushing it when it comes to  rushing yards: he's   rushed for at least 107 every time he's  taken the field this season. 83 of  Cothern's passing yards were hauled in by Ian Pianfetti, who also brought in a  receiving touchdown.
 They were just one part of a punishing run game: Richland County was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 271  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 156  rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Richland County's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Casey-Westfield, their  defeat was their first of the  season and  makes their record 7-1.
 Richland County didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  43-21  win against Robinson on the 24th. As for Casey-Westfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next  game,  a  22-17  loss against Paris on the 24th.
