Volleyball Preview: Pine Ridge Thorpes vs. Edgemont Moguls
Pine Ridge and Edgemont are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2016, but not for long. The Pine Ridge Thorpes will face off against the Edgemont Moguls at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
Pine Ridge is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest defeat since September 12th on Thursday. They came up short against Lakota Tech, falling 3-0. The Thorpes have struggled against the Tatanka recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-18, 25-17.
Meanwhile, Edgemont waltzed into their contest on Friday with 11 straight wins... but they left with 12. They blew past the Eagles 3-0.
Edgemont was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-14, 25-20.
Edgemont can attribute much of their success to Katelyn Lauritsen, who had eight digs and two aces, and Allie Brunson, who had 11 digs. Lauritsen is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in the last three games she's played.
Pine Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Edgemont, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 27-4 record this season.
