Softball Recap: Jerome Tigers vs. Burley Bobcats
Jerome extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 12-10 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Burley Bobcats. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by just one run.
Ellie Helmer was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
As for Burley, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-8. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games.
On Burley's side, Marhi Robins and Katelyn Hege did most of the damage at the plate: Robins went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Hege went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
As of now, neither Jerome nor the Bobcats have any future games scheduled.
