Basketball Recap: Hug Gets the Win

Wooster came into Friday's contest looking for another win against Hug, but Cori Carrier wouldn't allow it. The Hug Hawks blew past the Wooster Colts 45-25 on Friday thanks in part to Carrier, who went 8 of 18 on her way to 19 points along with four steals and three blocks. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Hug's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Andrea Trujillo, who posted nine points and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played.

Hug's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Wooster, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Hug didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 45-36 win against Yerington on the 28th. As for Wooster, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Hug at 6:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
