Football Game Preview: Miami Warriors vs. Groom Tigers + How To Watch

The Miami Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Groom Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Miami has nine straight wins, Groom has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, Miami was fully in charge, breezing past Lefors 77-16. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by 34 points or more this season.

Miami's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Kotara, who threw for 102 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 80% of his passes, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. An impressive showing, but Kotara really ramped things up playing D: he forced one fumble and made 13 total tackles (2.0 for loss). Chance White helped Kotara out on the ground, rushing for 70 yards and a pair of scores.

Miami was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 214 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 174 rushing yards in seven consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Groom lost to Panhandle Christian Home Educators at home by a 67-50 margin on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (37), the Tigers still had to take the loss.

Groom's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Miami, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.

Everything went Miami's way against Groom in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as Miami made off with a 64-44 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
