Baseball Game Preview: IMG Academy Silver Ascenders vs. Central Pointe Christian Academy CPCA

The IMG Academy Silver Ascenders will square off against the Central Pointe Christian Academy CPCA at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. IMG Academy Silver's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Central Pointe Christian Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Central Pointe Christian Academy will be up against a hot IMG Academy Silver squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. IMG Academy Silver came out on top against St. Petersburg by a score of 5-1 on Friday. That's two games straight that the Ascenders have won by exactly four runs.

Antonio Chavez was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Hibiki Misawa, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Chavez wasn't the only one working in the hit department: IMG Academy Silver kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Petersburg only managed six hits.

Meanwhile, Central Pointe Christian Academy scored first but ultimately less than MVP Baseball Academy in their game on Monday. They came up short against MVP Baseball Academy, falling 8-1. CPCA fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against MVP Baseball Academy since on Monday.

IMG Academy Silver pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.4 runs over those games. As for Central Pointe Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10-1 record this season.

IMG Academy Silver was able to grind out a solid victory over Central Pointe Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 4-1.
