Basketball Recap: Wind River Comes Up Short

Wind River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were dealt an 82-24 defeat at the hands of the Lander Valley Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wyoming basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while the Tigers are ranked 17th).

Wind River's loss dropped their record down to 1-20. As for Lander Valley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-8.

Wind River has already played their next match, a 78-22 defeat against Hot Springs County on the 20th. As for Lander Valley, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers take on the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Powell knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Lander Valley likes a good challenge.
