Volleyball Recap: High Tech CV Takes a Loss

After flying high against Monarch last Tuesday, High Tech CV came back down to earth. The Bruins came up short against the Mountain Empire Redhawks on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The Bruins were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Redhawks earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-12, 25-19.

Thomas Gomez paced High Tech CV's offense, picking up five kills. Gomez got some help from Maxwell Lazo and his 11 assists. Finally, Caleb Dela Cruz kept High Tech CV's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Mountain Empire found their leader in sophomore Amar Mahasin, who had eight digs and seven aces.

High Tech CV's loss dropped their record down to 15-14. As for Mountain Empire, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-7.

High Tech CV wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Gompers Prep Academy on the 1st. As for Mountain Empire, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Monarch on the 1st.
