Basketball Game Preview: Garey Vikings vs. Pacific Pirates

Two dominant forwards in Miguel Flores and Maurice Fitzgerald are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Garey Vikings will head out on the road to take on the Pacific Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Garey has given up an average of 58.1 points per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Friday, Garey was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 63-59 to Torres. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Esteban Ruvalcaba, who posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jeremy Silva, who put up ten points.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 68-38, which was the final score in Pacific's tilt against Rubidoux on Friday.

Pacific's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Garey, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Garey beat Pacific 55-48 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Fitzgerald, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 31 rebounds.
