Baseball Game Preview: Spanish River Sharks vs. Saint Andrew's Scots

The Spanish River Sharks will take on the Saint Andrew's Scots at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Spanish River came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 14-3 to Park Vista. The Sharks' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Spanish River saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jesse Chimenti, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-4. That's the most stolen bases Chimenti has posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Saint Andrew's entered their tilt with Santaluces on Wednesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Chiefs a 10-0 shutout.

Chase Lambalot looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Connor Berman, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Luccas Mendez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Saint Andrew's was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Santaluces only posted a batting average of .238.

Saint Andrew's now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Spanish River, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.

Everything went Spanish River's way against Saint Andrew's in their previous matchup back in April of 2023, as Spanish River made off with a 13-2 win. Will Spanish River repeat their success, or does Saint Andrew's have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
