Football Recap: Carter-Riverside Comes Up Short

Carter-Riverside lost against Eastern Hills back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Eagles came up short against the Highlanders, falling 38-14.

Despite the loss, Carter-Riverside saw an underclassman step up: freshman Bobby Fields picked up 61 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 73 yards on only seven carries. The Eagles also got a significant boost from Deandre Fields, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 84 yards.

Carter-Riverside has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Eastern Hills, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-5.

Coincidentally, Carter-Riverside and Eastern Hills will both be playing Diamond Hill-Jarvis the next time they take the field. The Eagles will host the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st, while the Highlanders will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on November 7.
