Basketball Recap: Lakes Takes a Loss

Lakes was the 53-43 winner over Lake Forest Academy when they last played one another back in January of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Lakes Eagles were dealt a 57-26 loss at the hands of the Lake Forest Academy Caxys on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 401st, while the Caxys are ranked 98th).

This is the second loss in a row for Lakes and nudges their season record down to 11-14. As for Lake Forest Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 17 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

Coming up, Lakes is taking a road trip to face off against Grant Community at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lake Forest Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Willows Academy at 6:30 p.m. Lake Forest Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Willows Academy likes a good challenge.
