Basketball Game Preview: Hampton Roads Academy Navigators vs. Peninsula Catholic Knights

The Hampton Roads Academy Navigators will challenge the Peninsula Catholic Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hampton Roads Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

While Hampton Roads Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-10), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Middlesex by a score of 48-41 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Peninsula Catholic was able to grind out a solid victory over Potomac Senior on Saturday, taking the game 68-58. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Peninsula Catholic's win came from a few key players Hampton Roads Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Justin Hunter, who posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Wynn, who had 15 points.

Hampton Roads Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Peninsula Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.

Hampton Roads Academy took a serious blow against Peninsula Catholic when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 108-37. Thankfully for Hampton Roads Academy, EJ Joyner (who went 6 of 10 from beyond the arc en route to 40 points along with eight assists and four steals) won't be suiting up this time.
