Basketball Recap: Summit Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Summit, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with a 69-57 victory over the Battle Mountain Huskies on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 41-29 two weeks ago.

Several Huskies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kitz Petrovski, who posted 13 points. That's the most points Petrovski has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Beau Suman, who put up 12 points.

Summit has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-17 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points over those games. Battle Mountain has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Summit has already played their next contest, a 65-35 loss against Glenwood Springs on the 20th. As for Battle Mountain, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 87-48 defeat against Eagle Valley on the 20th.
