Softball Game Preview: Sebastopol Bobcats vs. J.Z. George Jaguars

Sebastopol is a perfect 3-0 against J.Z. George since March of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Sebastopol Bobcats face off against J.Z. George Jaguars at 6:30 p.m. Sebastopol is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 13.5 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Sebastopol got the win against J.Z. George by a conclusive 20-1. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Jaguars recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Kadence Robertson made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

In other batting news, Sebastopol let Marlee Smith and Bryleigh Myers run wild. Smith went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Myers went 1-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Smith a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Smith, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Sebastopol kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive contests.

Sebastopol's victory was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for J.Z. George, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
