Basketball Recap: Kylie Nelson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Riverside [Wathena/Elwood]

After losing to Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] the last time they met, Hiawatha decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Hiawatha Red Hawks secured a 50-45 W over the Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] Cyclones on Friday.

Hiawatha's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kylie Nelson led the charge by putting up 20 points. Nelson's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Adison Williams, who posted four points in addition to six boards and four steals.

Hiawatha's record is now 10-8-1. As for Riverside [Wathena/Elwood], their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.

Looking ahead, Hiawatha will take on Jefferson West at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
