Baseball Recap: Lewiston's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Lewiston had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 7-8 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Brunswick Dragons a 2-0 shutout. The Blue Devils have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Dragons, too.

Not much got past Joe Dube, who gave up just three hits to keep Brunswick off the board. Dube also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Lewiston is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-7 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jeffrey Randall, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Brunswick, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since May 25, 2024.

On Brunswick's side, Wyatt Aceto spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks. Aceto has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

Ararat at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Dragons 3, the Eagles 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
