Basketball Recap: West Creek Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

After losing to Chattanooga Prep the last time they met, West Creek decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The West Creek Coyote came out on top against the Chattanooga Prep Sentinels by a score of 71-64 on Friday. While the Coyote didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

When it comes to explaining why Chattanooga Prep lost, don't look at Derrick Roberson. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance also gave Roberson a new career-high in steals (six). Demarion Bowman was another key player, going 8 for 12 on his way to 16 points.

West Creek has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Chattanooga Prep, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-3.

West Creek will be playing in front of their home fans against Rossview at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Chattanooga Prep, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-57 loss against Dutchtown on the 14th.
