Basketball Recap: First Preparatory Christian Academy Find Success

If Robert Toombs Christian Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played First Preparatory Christian Academy, they should've done a better job of containing Brandon Betton. The First Preparatory Christian Academy Highlanders simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the Robert Toombs Christian Academy Crusaders 78-36 thanks in part to Betton, who went 7 of 17 en route to 21 points along with eight assists and six rebounds. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in blocks (two).

Another player making a difference was Jordan Ortiz, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 12 points in addition to five assists and four steals. He has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played.

First Preparatory Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Robert Toombs Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-8.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Citizens Christian Academy the next time they take the court. Robert Toombs Christian Academy will head out to face Citizens Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while First Preparatory Christian Academy will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
