Volleyball Recap: Maumee Comes Up Short

Maumee lost against Oak Harbor back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Panthers came up short against the Rockets, falling 3-0. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Maumee was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Oak Harbor's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-16, 25-18.

Despite the loss, Maumee saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Julia Coutcher had 13 digs and three assists. Reign Hurt also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.

Maumee now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Oak Harbor, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3.

Maumee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Rossford on the 18th. As for Oak Harbor, they have also already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against Otsego on the 18th.
