Softball Recap: Beecher Makes It 13 in a Row at Home

Ten must be Beecher's lucky number: they beat Hebron with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Bobcats didn't even let the Hawks on the board, marking the Bobcats' second-straight 10-0 shutout. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by seven runs or more this season.

Taylor Norkus was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tayiah Scanlan, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Mia Chavez also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Beecher always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hebron only posted an OBP of .100.

Beecher pushed their record up to 11-0 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Hebron, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Beecher will head out to challenge St. Anne at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hebron, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hobart at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.
