It was a good run, but Ephrata unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They came up short against the Steilacoom Sentinels, falling 38-14.
Ephrata didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Brady Hendrick and Ty Plaisted.
Steilacoom's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Titus Kaeka led the charge by throwing for 304 yards and four TDs. Kaeka has been hot recently, having posted four or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Steilacoom's leading receiver Jaleo Johnson was Kaeka's top target yet again, picking up 105 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Ephrata's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Steilacoom, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
Ephrata does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Steilacoom, they will challenge Anacortes at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Kaeka and Ryan Harrington.
