Odessa skates past Selkirk with ease

Recap: Odessa Tigers vs. Selkirk Rangers

The Odessa Tigers gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Selkirk 77-17 at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 47-8.

Odessa's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dakota Steward, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Claassen, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.

Odessa's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Selkirk, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Odessa will be playing at home against Oakesdale at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Selkirk won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame at 6:00 p.m. on December 2nd.
