Volleyball Recap: Sunnyslope's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Sunnyslope proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by three) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Millennium Tigers 3-2. The win was nothing new for the Vikings as they're now sitting on five straight.

Sunnyslope was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (107-102), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 20-25, 16-25, 26-24, 15-11.

Owen Hillis paced Sunnyslope's offense, picking up 16 kills. Hillis got some help from Mason Cooley and his 45 assists. Finally, Darren Desmon kept Sunnyslope's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Millennium's loss came despite strong showings from Ethan Tran and Isaac Sanchez. Tran had ten digs and three assists, while Sanchez had 22 kills, 13 digs, three blocks, and two aces. Tran has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times he's played.

Sunnyslope pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Millennium, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-13.

Coming up, Sunnyslope will face off against Boulder Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Millennium, they will square off against Chandler at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
