Baseball Recap: Frankfort Hot Dogs vs. Crawfordsville Athenians
Frankfort had lost five straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 11-12 to make it six. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crawfordsville Athenians. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Athenians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-4 on Monday.
Frankfort saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Lopez, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Another was Matthew Berry, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
As for Crawfordsville, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-10-1 record this season. The victory was nothing new for Crawfordsville as they're now sitting on three straight.
On Crawfordsville's side, the team relied heavily on Jayden Jimenez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That's the most hits Jimenez has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Jude Coursey, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and one double.
