Baseball Game Preview: Mountain Valley Falcons vs. Mount Abram Roadrunners

Mountain Valley is 1-9 against Mount Abram since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Falcons are taking a road trip to take on the Roadrunners at 4:00 p.m. Mount Abram took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Mountain Valley, who comes in off a win.

Mountain Valley's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Boothbay. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Seahawks: they've now won four in a row.

Kegan Jordan made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Jordan was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zach McLean, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Braydan Hughes was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

Meanwhile, Mount Abram lost 7-1 to Monmouth Academy on Monday. The matchup marked the Roadrunners' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Mountain Valley's record now sits at 6-2-1. As for Mount Abram, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Mountain Valley might still be hurting after the 12-6 loss they got from Mount Abram in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
