Softball Game Preview: Wayne Hills Patriots vs. Passaic Valley Hornets

Wayne Hills hasn't had much luck against Passaic Valley recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Patriots will head out on the road to take on the Hornets at 4:00 p.m.

Wayne Hills fell victim to Lakeland Regional and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 10-0 to the Lancers. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Patriots' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Wayne Hills saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Mastroeni, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, Passaic Valley strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came out on top against Wayne Valley by a score of 6-3. The game was the first time the Hornets have beaten the Indians on their field since April 17, 2023.

Wayne Hills now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Passaic Valley, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.

Wayne Hills came up short against Passaic Valley when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 9-6. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
