Basketball Recap: Rocklin Starts off Right with Win over Laguna Creek

Rocklin had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They snuck past the Laguna Creek Cardinals with a 44-40 win on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Thunder also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2024.

Laguna Creek's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Santana Robinson, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 11 points. Julian Nitsche was another key player, putting up six points and three steals.

Laguna Creek dropped their record down to 1-1 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rocklin will look to takes advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they takes on Roseville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Laguna Creek, they will welcome Galt at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday.
