Football Game Preview: Whitehall Zephyrs vs. William Allen Canaries

The Whitehall Zephyrs will venture away from home to take on the William Allen Canaries at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Whitehall has five straight victories, William Allen has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Whitehall will bounce into Friday's game after beating Emmaus, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Zephyrs walked away with a 38-31 win over the Hornets on Friday. Given the Zephyrs' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Hornets are ranked 208th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, William Allen lost 27-6 to Allentown Central Catholic on Saturday.

Whitehall's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for William Allen, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Everything came up roses for Whitehall against William Allen in their previous matchup back in August of 2023, as the squad secured a 53-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Zephyrs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
