Basketball Game Preview: Cannon Falls Bombers vs. Lourdes Eagles

The Cannon Falls Bombers just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Lourdes Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Cannon Falls' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Cannon Falls is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They couldn't have asked for a better start to 2025 than the 97-58 blowout they got against Chatfield. The Bombers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Lourdes took a blow against Stewartville on Thursday, falling 79-39. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while the Tigers are ranked sixth).

Lourdes dropped their record down to 2-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Cannon Falls, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.

Everything came up roses for Cannon Falls against Lourdes when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 74-47 victory. Will Cannon Falls repeat their success, or does Lourdes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
