Basketball Recap: Mayville Comes Up Short

Mayville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 44-34 to the Marlette Red Raiders. The Wildcats lost against the Red Raiders in their previous head to head back in March of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 54-11 score last time.

Mayville's loss dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Marlette, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-14.

Mayville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Marlette, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 40-25 victory against Caseville on the 28th.
