Steele had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Avon Eagles. For the Comets, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 win the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2022.

Steele's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Avon, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
