Softball Game Preview: Brighton Cardinals vs. Dyersburg Trojans

The Brighton Cardinals will take on the Dyersburg Trojans at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Brighton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Brighton didn't have quite enough to beat Houston and fell 5-4.

Laney Lawson was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits.

At the plate, Maggie Livingston made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Dyersburg came up short against South Gibson on Wednesday and fell 7-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost three in a row.

Brighton's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-10-2. As for Dyersburg, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
