Football Recap: Karns Piles Up the Points Against Morristown-Hamblen East

Karns's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They breezed past the Morristown-Hamblen East Hurricanes to the tune of 51-12. That looming 51-12 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Beavers yet this season.

Karns' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Austin Slover, who threw for 302 yards and four TDs. Those four passing touchdowns gave Slover a new career-high. Cameron George helped Slover out on the ground, rushing for 149 yards and one score.

Karns didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Ariel Taylor, Jamayne Rutherford, Truvon Elsberry, and Jason Bourne picked up one apiece. Rutherford got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Karns moved to 3-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Morristown-Hamblen East, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Karns will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against West on the 24th. As for Morristown-Hamblen East, they will challenge West Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
