Baseball Game Preview: Wharton Tigers vs. Columbia Roughnecks

Wharton is on a seven-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Columbia a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Wharton Tigers will host the Columbia Roughnecks at 7:00 p.m. Wharton has given up an average of 8.6 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Monday just wasn't the day for Wharton's offense. They came up short against El Campo last Monday, falling 11-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Tigers were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Columbia came into Tuesday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 4-1 win over Bay City on Tuesday.

Grant Thrasher was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Columbia's victory bumped their record up to 13-9-2. As for Wharton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.
