Basketball Recap: Taft Comes Up Short

Taft lost against Mott Haven back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Taft Golden Eagles fell 65-53 to the Mott Haven Mavericks.

Taft dropped their record down to 7-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Mott Haven, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Taft will host Dodge Vocational at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Taft is facing Dodge Vocational at the right time seeing as Dodge Vocational is stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Mott Haven, they will be playing at home against Lehman at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Mott Haven knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Lehman likes a good challenge.
