Softball Recap: Archie Williams Has No Trouble Against Sonoma Valley

Archie Williams hadn't done well against Sonoma Valley recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Archie Williams was the clear victor by a 16-1 margin over Sonoma Valley. With that victory, the Peregrine Falcons brought their scoring average up to 7.7 runs per game.

Archie Williams' win was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Sam Singer, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Singer a new career-high. Kennedy Dunsing also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Archie Williams was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sonoma Valley only posted a batting average of .111.

Archie Williams' victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Sonoma Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Archie Williams wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 8-1 win against Novato on the 17th. As for Sonoma Valley, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Casa Grande at 4:00 p.m. on the 26th. This will be Sonoma Valley's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
