Game recap: Vicksburg High School Football Team bests Germantown

VICKSBURG, Miss. -
Vicksburg (Miss.) gained the lead on a
Terrell Smith touchdown run with 1:00 left in the fourth quarter to beat
Germantown (Madison, Miss.) 25-21 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Blake Bonds touchdown run, the Mavericks went into halftime with a 14-6 lead. The Gators took the lead for good with a touchdown run by Smith in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring six points in the third, Vicksburg still trailed by two points going into the fourth quarter. But 14 points in the fourth helped VHS pull out the victory.
The win brought Vicksburg's winning streak to three games.
In a 5A Region 2 game next week Vicksburg (5-1) takes on Ridgeland, and Germantown (4-2) will go up against Pearl also in a 5A Region 2 game.
