Basketball Game Preview: Surry County Cougars vs. Windsor Dukes

The Surry County Cougars just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Windsor Dukes at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Surry County will come in still looking for their first win of the season.

On Tuesday, Surry County ended up a good deal behind Franklin and lost 37-22.

Despite the loss, Surry County had strong showings from Zariah Harrell, who posted seven points and 11 rebounds, and Wenonah Johnson, who earned nine points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Surry County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Windsor came up short against Franklin on Wednesday and fell 37-26. The Dukes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Windsor's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Surry County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.

Surry County took a serious blow against Windsor in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 58-30. Can Surry County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
