With a playoff win on the line, Franklinville rose to the challenge on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Ellicottville Eagles with a sharp 65-45 victory. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.

Ellicottville's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Parker John, who posted seven points. Dominic Polino was another key player, putting up eight points and eight rebounds.

The win (which was Franklinville's fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-4. As for Ellicottville, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-8.

Looking ahead, Franklinville will take on Holland at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Holland's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight games. Ellicottville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
