Basketball Game Preview: Grassfield Grizzlies vs. Bunn Wildcats

The Grassfield Grizzlies and the Bunn Wildcats will face off at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Grassfield has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last six games.

On Friday, Grassfield blew past Hickory, posting a 67-39 win. The Grizzlies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 28 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bunn, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 48-34 victory over Roanoke Rapids on Friday.

Grassfield better focus on containing Makayla Richardson and Ny'Lah Mitchell as the pair were huge in Bunn's win. Richardson went 7 of 15 en route to 23 points, while Mitchell dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which Richardson has scored at least a third of Bunn's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Arnold, who posted ten points.

Grassfield's win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.3 points per game. As for Bunn, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 7-6.
