Volleyball Recap: Utica Chieftains vs. Regina

Utica was the 2-1 winner over Regina when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Chieftains fell 2-0 to Regina on Thursday. The Chieftains have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Utica was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-17.

Kylee Backus paced Utica's offense, picking up four kills. Backus got some help from Rachel Rettell and her six assists. Claire Ponzio controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Utica's loss dropped their record down to 0-4-1.

Utica didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Anchor Bay on the 21st. As for Regina, they have also already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against L'Anse Creuse North on the 21st.
