Soccer Recap: Linden Comes Up Short

Linden was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were one goals away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Summerville Bears. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 844th, while the Bears are ranked 337th).

Eric Alvarez wasn't going to let Summerville walk away unscathed as he scored both of Linden's goals, bringing his season total up to three goals.

Linden's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5-2. As for Summerville, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.

Linden has already played their next match, a 5-1 win against Bret Harte on the 9th. As for Summerville, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-0 victory against Big Valley Christian on the 9th.
