Basketball Recap: Logan Jordan's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Central Davidson over Ben L. Smith

Central Davidson lost against Ben L. Smith two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Central Davidson Spartans took a 42-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ben L. Smith Golden Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 30th).

Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Logan Jordan, who posted eight points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Raegan McCarn, who had nine points and six rebounds.

With the loss, Central Davidson broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-5. As for Ben L. Smith, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.

Central Davidson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 69-44 win against West Davidson on the 18th. As for Ben L. Smith, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 67-33 defeat against Southeast Guilford on the 19th.
