Football Game Preview: Murrieta Valley Nighthawks vs. San Clemente Tritons + How To Watch

Murrieta Valley and San Clemente are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2016, but not for long. The Nighthawks will take on the Tritons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Murrieta Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully San Clemente likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, everything came up roses for Murrieta Valley against King as the team secured a 49-7 win. The Nighthawks haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Jeremiah Watson had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 187 yards and four scores on only seven carries, while also catching one TD. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 118.8 rushing yards per game. Jacob Taddi also helped out with an impressive 80 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, San Clemente earned a 26-13 win over Chino Hills on Friday. The Tritons pushed the score to 26-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Huskies cut but never quite recovered from.

San Clemente's win came from a few key players Murrieta Valley will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Eiler King, who threw for 220 yards and three touchdowns. San Clemente's leading receiver Jaxson Rex was King's top target yet again, picking up 104 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

San Clemente's run defense was locked in: Chino Hills could only muster 1.3 yards per carry. The team can thank Patrick Norman for the heroic effort on defense: he. San Clemente's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.4.

San Clemente's defense didn't let Alex Medyn., get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. Norman was especially locked on to Chino Hills' QB and sacked him twice.

Murrieta Valley's record is now 3-1. As for San Clemente, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Murrieta Valley beat San Clemente 35-25 in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Nighthawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
