The Charlotte Country Day School Buccaneers will head out on the road to face off against the Christ School Greenies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Charlotte Country Day School is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
Last Friday, Charlotte Country Day School suffered a tough 41-21 loss at the hands of Charlotte Christian. While losing is never fun, Charlotte Country Day School can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 114th, while Charlotte Christian is ranked 22nd).
Charlotte Country Day School's loss came about despite a quality game from Khalel Wright, who rushed for 64 yards and three touchdowns.
Christ School fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They were the clear victor by a 43-19 margin over Metrolina Christian Academy. Christ School pushed the score to 36-13 by the end of the third, a deficit Metrolina Christian Academy had little chance of recovering from.
Christ School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaden Brown led the charge by rushing for 108 yards and a touchdown. Mason Holtzclaw also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Charlotte Christian's victory bumped their season record to 7-3 while Charlotte Country Day School's defeat dropped theirs to 4-6.
Charlotte Country Day School came up short against Christ School in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 24-13. Can Charlotte Country Day School avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
