Recap: Saint James Trojans vs. Carroll Eagles
The Saint James Trojans waltzed into Friday's matchup with three straight wins but they left with four. They pulled ahead with a 49-48 photo finish over Carroll. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
K.J. Jackson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 49 yards and four touchdowns, while also throwing for 242 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Clint Houser, who picked up 77 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Peyton Plott, who rushed for 345 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 19.2 yards per carry. Plott really tore up the turf during one magnificent 78-yard run. Another player making a difference was Lakeith Person, who rushed for 165 yards and three touchdowns.
Saint James' win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Carroll, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
Saint James will be playing at home against Opp at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Opp is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Carroll does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
