Bishop dropped their record down to 17-8-2 on Thursday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Falfurrias Fightin' Jerseys by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Badgers have suffered since March 1st.

As for Falfurrias, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-10-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games.

For Falfurrias' part, Derek Chavera spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on nine hits.

On the hitting side, Andre Cisneros was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

While Bishop had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
