Basketball Game Preview: Victory Christian Lions vs. Coosa Christian Conquerors

Victory Christian and Coosa Christian are an even 4-4 against one another since November of 2014, but not for long. The Victory Christian Lions will head out to take on the Coosa Christian Conquerors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Victory Christian will be strutting in after a victory while Coosa Christian will be coming in after a loss.

Last Tuesday, Victory Christian strolled past Alabama School for the Deaf with points to spare, taking the game 46-29. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Amelia Haney was her usual excellent self, putting up 11 points and six steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 29 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madelyn Arnold, who posted eight points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Coosa Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 50-26 to Appalachian.

Coosa Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Victory Christian, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Everything came up roses for Victory Christian against Coosa Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, as the squad secured a 68-27 win. In that game, Victory Christian amassed a halftime lead of 35-11, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
