Volleyball Recap: Newark Norsemen vs. Stockton Blackhawks
Newark and Stockton squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Newark had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Stockton Blackhawks by a score of 2-1. While the Norsemen didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Blackhawks 25-22 in the first set.
Newark started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-17, 25-23.
Adrianna Larsen paced Newark's offense, picking up 13 kills. Larsen got some help from
Taylor Jeffers and her 34 assists.
Elle Norquist controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Newark's loss dropped their record down to 25-11. As for Stockton, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 35-2.
Newark does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Stockton, they are on the road again on Thursday to play Galena at 6:00 p.m. Galena will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Stockton surely won't give up without a fight.
